Summary:
- BGaming releases Divine Queen Power of Sun slot
- Min/max bet: 0.20 to 50
- Max payout: 5,000x
“Divine Queen Power of Sun“, BGaming’s sequel to the iconic “Divine Queen Heart of Ice” has one number that immediately stands out: a 97.00% RTP. But the provider’s Egyptian-themed slot has so much more going for it than its appealing mathematics.
The latest game takes a different approach, as it cleverly is built around position-based multipliers that can grow as winning symbols repeatedly land in the same cells.
The game uses a 6×5 grid, with wins formed by landing at least eight matching symbols anywhere on the screen. Bets range from €0.20 to €50, while the high volatility and 5,000x maximum win give the game a fairly demanding risk profile.
The top payout is not particularly large by modern slot standards, but the mechanics give individual spins plenty of room to build.
Winning symbols disappear through Refills, with new symbols dropping into their places. This is where the game’s Cell Multipliers come into play.
Positions involved in winning combinations become active multiplier cells, and subsequent wins using those same positions increase their multiplier, doubling up to x128.
During the base game, the multipliers disappear once the current sequence ends. That makes keeping the Refills going important, as a longer chain gives the multipliers more opportunities to grow.
Free Spins, Super Free, and Boosters
The Free Spins feature grabs the same idea and take its even further. Players who land four, five or six Divine Queen Scatters receive 10 Free Spins.
Cell Multipliers carry over between spins while existing multipliers can continue to double. New positions can become active. Three or more additional Scatters will add five more spins.
Super Free Spins offer an even stronger starting point, with every position beginning at an x2 multiplier. This means players do not have to build the multiplier grid from zero before the feature gets going.
BGaming has also added several optional ways to alter the gameplay. Chance x10 costs three times the regular stake and increases the chance of triggering Free Spins. The 20x Random Booster gives one spin with randomly activated Cell Multipliers of up to x128, while the 250x Booster x32 starts all 30 positions at x32 for a single spin.
Players can also buy the regular Free Spins feature for 100x the bet, while Super Free Spins cost 500x.
Visually, Divine Queen Power of Sun is less memorable. Its futuristic take on Egyptian imagery is clean enough, but it does not have the same level of personality as some competing titles. The real attraction is the gameplay rather than the presentation.
The 97.00% RTP is a strong point, and the Cell Multiplier system gives the Refills a clear sense of progression. The 5,000x maximum win is more modest, though, particularly for a high-volatility game.
All in all, Divine Queen Power of Sun is an interesting sequel as it des not only repeat the success formula that Heart of Ice relies on, but it also relies on position-based multipliers to give the game its own identity.
