It’s hard to believe that Pragmatic Play’s Wild Wild slot series has been around for more than five years. In that time, we’ve seen releases like Wild Wild Riches, Wild Wild Joker, Wild Wild Pearls, and Wild Wild Bison, each built around a similar formula involving wild-triggered effects and Money symbol collections.
Now the studio is revisiting one of its more familiar titles with “Wild Wild Riches Returns“, a game that tweaks the format, expands the jackpots, and adds a few mechanical changes.
To fit the Irish theme, Pragmatic Play has created a cheerful backdrop filled with rolling green hills, a rainbow, and intricate Celtic patterns. It looks exactly as you’d expect from this type of slot, pleasant, polished, but not particularly unique.
The bonus round adds a bit more visual flair, switching the scene to a dreamy purple night sky. It’s undeniably attractive, even if it doesn’t do much to stand out in the crowded “luck of the Irish” category.
The layout has also been slightly reworked. Instead of the 3-3-4-4-4 grid used in the original Wild Wild Riches, this one goes for a 3-4-4-4-3 setup, giving players 576 ways to win. Bets range from $/€0.25 to $/€250 per spin, running on a medium volatility model with a 96.5% RTP at the highest configuration.
On the reels, you’ll find the familiar mix of card suits, pipes, mushrooms, boots, horseshoes, and chests of gold.
Five-of-a-kind low symbols pay between 0.32x and 0.8x the stake, while high symbols pay 1.2x to 8x. Wilds can appear on the first and last reels, substituting for other symbols and sometimes carrying a 2x multiplier that applies to all wins and Money symbol collections triggered by that wild.
Special Features
The Money Collect mechanic returns, but with updated rules. Money symbols can show values from 1x to 8x the bet, or one of several jackpots: Mini (10x), Minor (25x), Major (50x), Mega (100x), Grand (1,000x), or the massive Emerald (10,000x).
When wilds appear on the first or last reel, all visible Money symbol values are awarded for each wild in view.
Landing three scatters activates the bonus round, awarding 6 to 20 free spins. Players can gamble for more spins, though losing the gamble wipes them out entirely. During the round, Money values collect in a meter.
At the end, a “super spin” plays, where a giant Money symbol fills the center reels and pays out for every wild that lands.
Players can also trigger an Irish Spin for 10x the bet, which limits the reels to blanks, Money, wilds, or scatters, or buy straight into the free spins for 100x the stake.
