When was the last time you played one of Pragmatic Play’s games from the iconic The Dog House series? Whatever your answer was, now you have a chance to revisit it with the brand new launch of “The Big Dog House“, a fresh entry in the long-running series that first gained popularity back in 2019.
Over the years, the studio has expanded the brand with releases such as The Dog House Megaways, The Dog House Multihold, and The Dog House Royal Hunt and The Dog House Muttley Crew. So what could the latest version possibly bring new to the table?
In short: a series of interesting features, bonus rounds, betting options, and higher winning potential.
The game keeps the familiar suburban setting that fans of the series will instantly recognize, complete with “white pocket fence, homely houses, and well-tended lawns,” while once again putting its lineup of animated dogs at the center of the experience.
Like previous titles in the franchise, the new game uses a 5×3 layout with 20 paylines. The slot offers medium volatility and an RTP of up to 96.53%.
Players are awarded a payout when they match at least three matching symbols left to right along any of the paylines.
Players familiar with the OG game will notice the regular 10-A card ranks, bones, collars, and lovable doggie character symbols.
When a player lands a five OAK win, they are rewarded with 10x to 37.5x when dog symbols are involved, or 1.25x to 7.5x for all of the symbols beneath them.
Special Features
One of the biggest additions is the expanded range of bonus mechanics and betting features. Wild symbols remain the core gameplay element and can appear as standard wilds, full reel expanded wilds, or massive 3×3 colossal wilds.
Multipliers of x2 or x3 can also be attached to winning combinations.
The game introduces a special multiple bonus modes, featuring Biggie Free Spins and Ghost Out Free Spins. During free spins, sticky wilds remain on the reels, although a new “Ghost Wild” feature can remove them one by one, adding an extra level of unpredictability.
Players can also engage in a variety of betting modes, including enhanced ante bets that boost the chance to trigger bonus rounds, as well as expensive “Super Spins” that guarantee specific wild features.
Bonus buy options are also available, with the most expensive feature costing up to 500 times the base stake.
All in all, while some part of the new release might feel like a betrayal for loyal Dog House players, the long list of betting options and buys makes it worthy for the “Big” part of its name.
