Big Blox Slot Machine by Yggdrasil - Review and Play for free
After playing the Big Blox slot machine for a while I can give you my honest opinion on it, so you can see is it something that suits your style of play. This slot game is a bit different as it doesn’t have a bonus game but instead the main feature – and the only one – is active on every spin. This is very good for the player and in my opinion shouldn’t be avoided just because you enjoy the thrill of triggering the free spins, which don’t exist in Big Blox.
Theoretical return to player (RTP) is 96.20%, which is good enough, especially as the entire payout is right here in the main game and not hidden behind some jackpot or a bonus feature that’s difficult to trigger. Experienced players will know how to appreciate the Big Blox slot by Yggdrasil for what it is – a rewarding and fun experience. Variance of the slot machine seems to be medium, as the game pays often enough and the paytable is decent too.
Main game and paytable
The game uses a standard 5×3 reel set, and a very familiar 243 ways to win setup which I actually enjoy the most, and it suitrs this game perfectly as it makes the most of the way the game is set up. The minimum price you pay for those 243 ways to win is €0.25, and the maximum possible bet per spin is €100. There are eight symbols in this game, and all of them are stone totems that actually light up whenever there’s a chance of forming a win. Four totems are card symbols, which is an indication they don’t pay very much, and it’s the other four totems you’ll want to see on your reels often, especially as Big Blocks. The four totems pay way better than the card suit symbols, and the best possible prize is 500 coins for five-of-a-kind, that’s the Orange Totem, and Purple and Green Totem pay 250 and 200 coins respectively. Since the game is so heavy on multiple-payline wins, this is actually a quite rewarding paytable.
Theme of the game is pleasant and suits the game well, making for an overall very fun experience with those Big Blocks that keep coming up on your reels. As usual with Yggdrasil, the graphics are of highest quality. The totems are a bit wacky, but you’ll love them nonetheless.
The main bonus feature of this game is actually alwaays active. On every spin the Big Block Feature is activated. A Big Block, 2×2 in size, will show up on the reels on a random position, and it may even grow to 5×3 and therefore fill the entire board. The Big Block is actually a 2×2 area of the same symbol, which then increases your chance of landing a win. With a little bit of luck, the Big Block can be a Wild, up to 4×3 in size.
The feature, which is the only bonus in the game, is very powerful and can lead to big wins. There’s no need for free spins or any other bonus game here, as Big Block Feature more than makes up for it. Any spin can lead to a huge win and those big wins aren’t hidden behind some feature that needs to be triggered. This is good for you, and I think it’s better than playing a slot with locked features. If you land a good Big Block symbol and have other symbols align properly, you’ll win big.
Big Blox is an innovative slot machine that won’t appeal to all players, but it should, because it’s a quality game that pays well. Those Big Blocks, especially if they are Wilds, make a huge difference in this game and lead to big wins very often. This makes Big Blox a game every player should at least try out. Once you start playing Big Blox you can’t stop, the game is so much fun and you keep waiting for that one Big Block of the best symbol to come up and deliver that big win!
