Play Finn and the Swirly Spin Slot Machine for free and Review

I have played Finn and the Swirly Spin a lot since its release in early 2018, and I can tell you why I play it so much and what are the pros and cons of this slot machine. The main thing about this slot is its innovativeness, and there’s no other slot like this one. This is reflected both in the main game and in the bonus game, and when you click to start the Finn and the Swirly Spin slot, you’re in for a world of fun.

Theoretical return to player (RTP) of the game is 96.61%, which is very good, and since the different free spins games are progressively unlocked until the point where you can pick any of the four yourself, it’s possible to then constantly play the most rewarding one and therefore increase the theoretical payout of your session. Variance is medium, the game feel just right in every aspect of gameplay.

Main game and paytable

The game is played on a 5×5 board with blocks, and the game uses no paylines. The 5×5 board is actually a continuous streak of symbols that starts at the bottom left and ends with the central symbol. You actually move one position at a time, starting with your Key symbol on the bottom left, and it’s your goal to bring that key to the center, which is where the Keylock is.

You do that as symbols move to advance to the center of the board whenever you achieve a win. Any horizontal or vertical combination of at least three symbols is a winning combination, regardless whether it starts at the edge of the board or not. After the win is awarded, the winning symbols explode, and are replaced by new ones but you are pushed just a bit closer to your goal of reaching the Keylock.

There are only six symbols in the paytable, and the difference between the best and worst symbol is great, some 12x. The Ruby symbol is the most valuable one, and there’s also a Wild symbol. The game doesn’t use Scatters.

This is probably one of the best main games among all slots, it’s so much fun to play. It would be just another falling blocks game if NetEnt didn’t add the wrinkle of advancing symbols that need to reach the center of the board.

Bonus features

But that’s not all as Finn and the Swirly Spin also has a bonus round, which is what you get when the Key reaches the Keylock. And it’s not just one free spins game either, it’s four different free spins games and you get to unlock them by bringing that Key to the Keylock multiple times.

Initially you’ll be playing the Stat Bar Free Spins. When you deliver the Key 4 times you’ll unlock Lava Lair Free Spins, followed by Lucky Mug Free Spins for 9 Keys. Finally, Golden Pot Free Spins will become available when you bring the Key to the Keylock 16 times, and at that point you’ll be able to choose which of the four features you wish to play. I would assume it’s good to plan for a longer playing session in order to trigger the Golden Pot Free Spins as they’re the most rewarding, so you can pick them every time afterwards. You will, of course, already have a good assumption on what is the best free spins game of these four.

Conclusion

Finn and the Swirly Spin is just a superb slot game, it’s more fun than any other slot I’ve played recently. The falling blocks, the progressive main game in which you must reach the Keylock, and then there’s the progressive free spins game with four different games. And then there are the random features, and excellent graphics. This slot game must not be missed, it’s one of the best NetEnt slots and one of the best slots ever made.
